One of my career highlights to date has been my nomination for the 2019 Cairns Business Women’s Club Sole Entrepreneur Award, for which I made it as a finalist.
It was so empowering meeting with other like-minded business women and confirmed to me that my model and my values were congruent with the success I foresee in my future.
Not only did this give me the emotional boost that I needed, but it has reinforced to me that getting back to the basics of really listening to your clients and providing exceptional, personal service is the way to achieving a successful business.

Biggest challenge in business: People believing everything they read on Google and not reading the fine print on those “too good to be true”, $1 a day, travel packages that you see advertised.
The old adage “you get what you pay for” certainly rings true with many of these and they often lack the personal touch that a trusted travel advisor can bring to your holiday. There is a perception that dealing with an agent is more expensive than doing it yourself which is certainly not true when it comes to International and complicated packages. In fact dealing with a professional can often save you lots of unwanted stress, time and money as we know the ins and outs of the business and with over 27 years’ experience, I certainly know what I’m talking about! No-one wants to book their holiday of a lifetime only to have it go pear shaped and be stuck with nowhere to turn or no-one to help them. When clients deal with me, I am there every single step of the way to guide them and make sure their trip is memorable for all the right reasons. I also offer 24/7 support and the fabulous MTA Companion App which has all the clients travel details loaded and gives them a messenger feature to contact me anytime. Coupled with MTA’s Zero Flight Risk insurance, that ensures that all clients funds are 100% protected, there is no doubt my clients are in exceptional hands.
Best piece of advice for Trading Mates: is treat everyone with respect and integrity. I treat my clients the way I would like to be treated and that is as an individual, not just a number or someone that has to be dealt with. Honest and genuine service, always with a smile and really doing those little things that others often miss to ensure my client get not only the best service, but some lovely little extras or tips along the way to really make their experience exceptional. It is super important to acknowledge clients quickly and efficiently so they know if I can’t do what they’ve asked right away, that I’m not far away and that they feel that their enquiry is worthwhile. Every single enquiry is important to me and referrals are how I grow my business. I appreciate every single one and look at them as an opportunity to show my clients what excellent service is all about
